Montjuic was transformed into a beautiful green oasis after the 1992 Olympics with fabulous parks, and sports facilities all connected by a network of outdoor escalators and interlaced with quiet, shady gardens.

1 Jardins de Miramar

With amazing views across the city and the port area this place, opposite the Miramar, is scattered with stairways leading to enchanting groves.

2 Jardí Botanic

Dating from 1999 boast hound reds of examples of typical Mediterranean flora. You can find the botanical gardens of Barcelona among the Olympic Stadiums used in 1992. Don´t miss the charming Jardí Botánic Historic nearby.

3 Jardins de Joan Maragall

A nice avenue lined with sculptures by F. Marés and E. Maragall is the main delight of these gardens which also has the last ginjoler trees of the city.

4 El Mirador de Llobregat

This is the only place in the city where you can see the plains of the Llobregat stretching below, a viewing area with small gardens nearby.

5 Jardins Mossén Costa i Llobera

The most important cactus and succulent gardens in Europe. Enjoy the sunset there is particularly impressive when surreal shapes and shadows emerge.

6 Jardins Laribal

A multilevel park which hides the Font del Gat, a drinking fountain which has inspired many local songs. There you can also find a small Modernista house by the architect Puig i Cadafalch.

This gracious oasis surrounding the Greek amphitheater, reminiscent of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, is also known as La Resaleda (Rosegarden)

9 Jardins del Castell

The highlights of these gardens, which ring the castle of Montjuic, are the pathways along the walls of a flower-filled moat or the cannons dotted among the rose bushes.

10 Jardins de Joan Brossa

These gardens are very popular all year long with kids, thanks to the musical instruments, climbing frames, and the flying fox. During the spring this place comes into their own.
